We were asked to create four videos to be played to judges during the final decision of the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Bid, held in Tokyo, Japan. The videos were aired to an international audience, eagerly awaiting the decision as to whether Brisbane would host the 2032 Olympic Games. The goal for each of the videos was to convince the judges that Brisbane would be the perfect candidate to host the Games. As such, each video had a different goal and were designed to entertain, inform and endorse Brisbane. They were made up of existing footage from multiple sources (IOC, Channel 7, Channel 9, Tourism Events Queensland, Department of Premiers & Cabinets) and all of the footage needed to be cleared for use. We had under two weeks to produce four videos and make sure they were all cleared for international usage. The videos were played to the judges and live on international media outlets, airing at events and replayed on news outlets all over Australia and the world. I wore multiple producer hats on this project, being the segue between agency, production and post production and oversaw the job between the various parties.
The Games in Aus
This video was designed to entertain and show off Australia to the International Olympic Committee and its judges. Publicis Worldwide worked to get a well known track (You’re The Voice - John Farnham) and made it contemporary through the indigenous version by Mitch Tambo.
Invitation to Brisbane
This video was the closing video before the judging panel on the International Olympic Committee cast their final votes to make Brisbane the host of 2032. We had the iconic Jack Thompson voiceover, bringing nostalgia and gravitas to the video.
